Chapters 19-22 Summary

Chapter 19 takes place back at Redwall. Mhera is perplexed by the apparent riddle of the clue that reads "HITTAGALL." She is even more puzzled when she finds a similar clue, reading "PITTAGALL," on the edge of a bedspread in the Abbey's infirmary. Meanwhile, Skipper, the leader of the otter crew at Redwall, takes the otters off to the sea where they attend a large otter gathering called "Hullabaloo."

In Chapter 20, the alarm is sounded in Redwall when two youngsters go missing after a race that is held around the outside walls of the Abbey. Mhera leads the efforts to find them, but there is no sign of them. They leave torches lit outside the walls after dark and Mhera makes plans to lead a search party the next morning.
