Chapters 6-8 Summary

Book Two is entitled "Fifteen Seasons On" and opens with Chapter 6. Felch the fox is running through the woods holding Sawney's blade, fleeing in fear. He is being tracked by the Taggerung and knows he stands little chance of escape. He thinks back to the events that preceded his running away. For some time he and Antigra had been harassed by Sawney, who seemed to suspect they planned some kind of revolt. In a conflict with Felch, Sawney had thrown his blade at Felch and when Felch dodged, it flew into the forest. Sawney had sent him to retrieve it, but when Felch found it, he took it and ran rather than return to the camp.

Felch makes his way to a stream where he hides under an overhanging bank. He stands half-submerged and listens to the sound of a creature...
