Point of View

The novel is third person- omniscient point of view. Alexia Tabatti is the main speaker throughout the novel. She says anything she wants when she talks to other characters. She does some thinking which is usually highly inappropriate for the age. She wonders about parts of a body that the Victorians are not supposed to have heard of. The chapters usually have about three parts. Carriger moves about in her different genres and different cultures within a chapter. Professor Lyall seems to be the most informative of the other characters when Carriger is in his point of view. He tells us more about werewolves and the hero as well as the plot. Lord Akeldama is the other important spokesperson in the different chapters. He acts in the same position as Lyall in helping in the understanding of the plot. Maccon has his own point of view...
