Chapter Three Summary

In chapter three Alexia goes to Lord Maccon's office early and finds him in real disarray. She attempts to learn what he knows of the Westminister queen, Countess Nadasdy, wanting to have her to dinner. They discuss the question of the young vampire that she killed and neither of them understand what is happening. The reader learns more about behavior of a werewolf. Maccon is very angry as he learns that Lord Akeldama has advised Alexia to come to him. Maccon doesn't appreciate the friendship between Akeldama and Alexia. It never occurs to him that he is jealous of Akeldama. Maccon has Alexia tell him everything that had happened since the death of the vampire. He listens with consideration until Alexia tells him that Akeldama had been to supper with her and that she has already told Akeldama the whole story...
