Chapter Fourteen Summary

Four days later, Stephanie is at home recuperating from the gunshot and reflects on the events of the case. All considered, Stephanie is lucky for escaping almost unscathed. Alpha was dead and Ramirez had been captured outside on the fire escape. Lastly, the bounty money has been deposited into the bank, allowing life to return to normal.

Morelli appears bearing pizza and beer. Stephanie is wary of Morelli's presence and asks why he's there. Morelli claims that he just wanted to check in and see how Stephanie is feeling. Stephanie is unable to wear a brave face and collapses into tears. Morelli comforts Stephanie.
