Chapter 8, The Leaf Month Summary

Akiko is lying to John about her fertility. Jane begins work on another show. This one will feature Lara and Dyann, vegetarian lesbians. Jane knows that Ueno will not like this show, so she waits until the last minute to send it to Japan with the hopes that they will have no choice but to air it. When the episode arrives in Japan, Jane immediately receives a fax from Ueno's office letting her know that they do not approve of the episode and it will not be shown. However, the network shows the episode anyway and it gets higher ratings than any of the previous shows. Jane is forced to present future ideas to Ueno before filming the episodes.
