Chapter 7 Summary

In chapter seven, Ruby continues to work for Harriett and discovers Harriett is seldom able to actually leave the kiosk while Ruby is working. One day Ruby points out that Reggie obviously likes Harriett, a fact she insists isn't true.

One day Ruby arrives home and discovers that Jamie has bought a blue shirt each for himself, Cora, and Ruby, and one for Roscoe complete with a little red bow. He says they will wear them for their Christmas card photo. Ruby and Cora aren't enthusiastic but Jamie says he wants to make Christmas special for Cora and Ruby because they missed out on those traditions as kids. With that comment made, neither Ruby nor Cora can bring themselves to object.
