Chapter 6 Summary

In chapter six, Ruby talks about how annoying Gervais is. She says she's tried to think of a way to actually hit him but knows she can't because he's a kid and he wears braces with headgear, meaning there's not a large exposed area to hit. She says he's very immature and thinks farts and burps are very funny. One morning he isn't in the car and Nate says he has a doctor's appointment. Ruby reveals her annoyance with him and Nate says Gervais obviously likes Ruby. He says that Heather had ridden with them for awhile and Gervais never said anything to her at all. Ruby is surprised, saying she's not friendly in return but Nate disagrees. He says she's reserved but that's different from being unfriendly. Ruby points out that Nate is overly friendly and he says it's a compulsion.
