Chapter 16 "The Sublime" Summary

It is game night and Jojo can't hear anything but the taunts of the Cincinnati player he is paired up with. Jojo is paired against a player named Jamal who knows that Coach had previously pulled Jojo in favor of Congers. Although bad mouthing is part of the game (to try and distract the other player), Jojo feels his game is thrown off because Jamal knows of the switch and is able to get to him by mentioning it. A timeout is called and Coach puts in Congers and tells Jojo to take a seat. It is the first game of the season and he has been benched after five minutes of play.
