Summary

In Chapter 22, the morning after Daunis found Heather’s body, she tells Jamie about the drugs Heather offered her at the bonfire. Jamie explains that Ron does not think Heather’s death was suspicious, but Daunis asks how it could not have been suspicious. Jamie reminds Daunis that Heather ran away and was found with a bag of pills and meth, and a bag marijuana. He says it does not speak highly of her character. Daunis tells Jamie there had not been any meth in the bag that Heather showed her.

Later, Daunis thinks through her situation scientifically, like her uncle taught her to do. She comes to the conclusion that he was killed because he learned something that someone else did not want him to know. Daunis goes searching for her uncle’s journals to find out what he might have...
