Part 6, Chapter 43 Summary

Jamie finds Claire and leads the men to George Murray. Before they arrive, he rounds the side for battle and tells Claire to find sanctuary in a nearby building. He will find her later. She enters the building. It's completely dark. There are others inside that Claire cannot see. She learns it's Dougal, Rupert, Willie, and others. Rupert is hurt and Claire feels her way to him. Jamie comes a few minutes later through a window and tells them there are twenty men coming up the hill and for them to be quiet.

In the confines of the building Rupert is hurt badly. He is in a lot of pain and Claire knows he will die. He asks Dougal to end it for him, so he will suffer no longer. Dougal does and Claire holds Rupert's hand. The men cry as...
