Maverick's Neighborhood

Maverick lives in an unnamed neighborhood that seems typical of lower-class neighborhoods near urban areas. The house he shares with his mother is rather small, apparently only two bedrooms. Though small, the house has a small front porch and accommodates a large family gathering at Thanksgiving. The neighborhood is reasonably close-knit. Maverick recounts that his neighbors, Mr. and Mrs. Wyatt, took him to their home when police arrested Maverick's father.
