Section 9: Chapter 15 & Chapter 16 Summary

On Tuesday, December 23, in Chapter 15, Nest goes running in the snow the next morning. Bennett did not return the previous night. Last night when she was beginning to worry about Bennett, Little John had come to sit with her, but he refused to answer her questions, and Nest went to bed feeling dejected at her failure. Returning home, Nest finds that Bennett has returned, but Bennett refuses to answer questions about where she was. During breakfast, Nest suggests that they go get a Christmas tree. When Larry visits Nest to warn her that the people investigating Ross say he is a dangerous man, something clicks in Nest's mind. She describes Gask and warns Larry to check him out. After Larry leaves, Nest realizes Gask is using Larry, though she does not know why.
