Chapters 23-25 Summary

The final section of the book is called "Deyna" and begins with Chapter 23. Durby and Feegle, the missing youngsters, have been captured by a miserable rat named Poskra, who has them captive in a sack. He takes an item of clothing from each one to show the creatures of Redwall to prove he has them, intending to exchange them for some casks of wine. Unknown to Poskra, he is being watched by Vallug and Eefera, who decide they can use the children as hostages as well. They kill Poskra and take the sack with the youngsters.

Fwirl sees Vallug and Eefera with the sack while out searching with Mhera. She and Mhera quickly come up with a plan where Fwirl lures the vermin away from the sack while Mhera rescues the youngsters.

Back at the Abbey, Mhera appoints Boorab the hare...
