Chapter 20 "Cool" Summary

The Millennial Mutants are meeting in Edgar's apartment. They are dissecting the word "cool." Adam gets involved in the conversation, not because he wants to contribute, but because he wants to trump the others, especially Greg. Adam says that he believes being cool has everything to do with confidence. Adam wants to impress Charlotte. He also wants to continue idolizing her. Edgar drives everyone back to campus. Adam insists on walking Charlotte back to Little Yard. Charlotte is happy since she enjoys spending time with people who converse intellectually, but Adam misinterprets her happiness and starts to kiss her. She finds it awkward and is embarrassed. Adam invites her back to his apartment and she declines. She tells him it is because she has to study. As she walks to her house.....
