Marco gives up his right to an attorney and will not elaborate as to why he supposedly murdered the three women, stating that after killing his ex-wife on impulse, he had developed a taste for it. Despite his un-wavering confession, Eve can sense that the man is lying to protect his son.

When Commander Whitney approaches her, Eve tells him that she is certain that the man is lying, and Whitney decides to talk to Marco as a friend, to see if he can get to the bottom of things. Commander Whitney tells Marco that he knows he is lying, and demands to know why. Whitney pleads with him to do the right thing. The Commander gives up and returns to Eve......
