Chapter 14 Summary

David has brought in a legal team, and they inform Eve that David is eager to cooperate. Pointing out that he wasn't so eager to do so earlier, Eve reminds them that he has recanted his original story, fled the scene of a crime, and failed to report the crime to authorities, making him look extremely guilty. The lawyers try playing hardball, challenging Eve to find solid evidence or release David. Feeney interrupts to tell Eve that David was in negotiations with Yvonne Metcalf over a lead in a movie. He then tells Eve that Yvonne was putting pressure on David, demanding more money than David was willing to pay. David fails to present a solid alibi for the nigh of Yvonne's murder, and Eve, thinking it's finally over, places him under arrest......
