Chapter 11 Summary

With Mrs.Whitney is her daughter Linda, who is there as her mother's attorney. Throughout the interview, Eve relentlessly questions Anna on her relationship with David, and her reason for the large sum of money she has given him. When Anna returns, she informs Eve that she gave the money to David as a loan to repay a gambling debt, because his life was in danger if it wasn't repaid.
