Chapter 2 Summary

When she gets to the door of Roarke's home, she is feeling ornery and decides not to knock. Immediately upon entering, she sees Summerset, Roarke's butler, appear. Eve can see by the way Summerset looks at her that he disapproves of her, and of her presence in Roarke's home. Becoming increasingly annoyed, Eve demands to know where Roarke is. Summerset tells her that he is involved with business and can't be disturbed. After several moments of verbal cat and mouse with the snooty butler, Eve orders him to let Roarke know of her arrival, and announces that she will be in the bath.

When he enters his bathroom and sees Eve lying in the tub, Roarke's gaze.....
