Part 6, Chapter 44 Summary

Claire is escorted by the English men to George Hawley who orders her to be taken to Colonel Campbell's in Kerse. Upon arrival in Kerse, the Colonel is not there. The soldier escorting Claire tells her they must go forward to Livingston. Claire is growing tired of this and offers to stay in Kerse, but the soldier cannot let her do that. She is presented to Colonel Gordon MacLeish Campbell who asks her about Red Jamie. She tells him the men call him Jamie. After questioning she asks to leave. He tells her he must send her south with any information on Red Jamie. She will be escorted in the morning.

Days go by as Claire is kept captive in the south. She tries to escape, but fails. She is eventually taken to the house in which Mary is staying. Thankfully...
