Part 3, Chapter 20 Summary

Claire wonders who La Dame Blanche is. One of the servants tells her, "The White Lady". It means a lady of sorcery. Jamie confesses to Claire that he told Glengarry and Castellotti she was La Dame Blanche. Claire finds this a little amusing, but asks why. He tells her that night he spent with the men at the tavern of ladies was when he told them. He didn't want them to think he wasn't manly. He didn't engage any of the ladies and lead the men to believe Claire would cast a spell on him if he did. Since the attackers mentioned La Dame Blanche and Jamie was with Glengarry and Castellotti at the time, it clearly wasn't them. Jamie would go find out who they told and find the attackers.
