Part 1, Chapter 3 Summary

Claire and Brianna (Bree) visit Inverness the next day, looking for gifts to bring back home. Bree sees Roger's car and moments later Claire whisks her away into a small café for cocoa and biscuits. After eating, Claire announces that she needs to visit the post office. She tells Bree to go to the Kiltmaker to get some material while she's at the post office and they will meet later. Bree agrees questioningly.

While Brianna is getting the material from the Kiltmaker, Claire takes a cab to Roger's house to question Fiona about her grandmother. The next morning, Claire wakes up feeling ill and Brianna offers to stay home with her instead of going with Roger. Claire insists that she go with Roger, so she does. Claire is left alone to sleep and dream of the Highlands in the 1700s.
