Chapter 34 Summary

"One the Case"

Willie writes that he has made progress in the search for the Cleopatra's lens. After running into some weather trouble going through Tahiti, Willie heads into Papeete Harbor. Since this was the first seaplane landing in thirty-years at the harbor, there is a celebration. He meets up with an old friend, Tom Prophet who introduces Willie to Philippe Parfait.

Philippe introduces Willie to the mayor and journalists from the local newspaper. The next day he wants to take Willie to breakfast to discuss The Flying Pearl with people from the press. A couple days later, they are flying out and Willie's co-pilot points out an enormous lighthouse; it's Amedee Lighthouse and stands 185 ft tall.

They land in New Caledonia and are met with hostile members of DGSE, which is the French equivalent.....
