Chapter 25 Summary

"Shackletons or Magellans They Are Not"

Archie welcomes Ix-Nay and Tully to Kafiristan of Central America. At the camp, they meet Tripod, a three-legged ocelot; she lost her leg to poachers. Archie shows them a picture of the Land Rover that is for sale. The Land Rover is currently in the shop getting repairs from an incident with the crankcase. It's painted yellow with black spots and has two machine-gun mounts on top. Archie starts calling Ix-Nay Billy Fish after a character in The Man Who Would Be King. He then offers to let them stay at his bungalow at a resort called Renaldo's in San Pedro. Tully says that he'll have to clear the time off with Bucky, but that they'd like to stay for a couple days.

That night Ix-Nay watches The Man.....
