Chapter 4 Summary

"Dreaming of Columbus"

Kirk offers to teach Tully about navigating the boat. That night Tully gets his first experience with rough weather on the boat. He steers the boat, having been told by Kirk that even though Tully may be at the helm, the boat usually knows where to go. As they reach the storm, they find a safe place for Mr. Twain and make their way through the worst of it. Tully had dreamed the night before about stormy weather and Columbus telling him not to panic; he remembers this as the storm crashes around the boat.

As they make their way through the worst of the storm, Tully sees the beacon from the lighthouse at Cape San Antonio. They reach Punta Margarita.....
