"The Soul of the Light - Tully Mars, Checking In"

A Salty Piece of Land begins as Tully Mars reminisces about wanting to be Roy Rogers as a child and how the life of rescuing people, looking perfect in blue jeans, and nights beside a campfire seemed like the perfect job. When Tully races his horse and falls, though, he realizes that life is not like it seems in a movie. Instead of Roy Rogers, Tully takes to Butch Cassidy as his new hero because Cassidy is not perfect.

Tully left his home in Wyoming a couple years earlier, after he tossed a massage table through the window of Thelma Barston's ranch. Thelma is Tully's boss at the poodle ranch in Wyoming. Upon his departure, Tully swears that, from here on out, he will be.....
