Summary

In Part Four, “The Moors,” “Daffodils,” Marnie chastises herself the whole way home. She tries working on the trip, but cannot stop thinking about what happened with Michael. She feels strange returning to London, too. She buys groceries and flowers and tries settling back into her apartment. While showering, she feels “suddenly overwhelmingly alone” (282).

In “Day Eight, Part One: Richmond to Osmotherley,” “Kippers,” Michael packs up at the hotel and studies his map. He both misses Marnie and is glad she is not there.

In “Day Eight, Part Two: “Bedroom to Kitchen to Reception,” “Work,” Marnie throws herself back into her work to distract herself.
