The Dark Tower is the nexus of all universes, including our own. Roland Deschain is obsessed with the tower and will do anything to reach it, even if it means sacrificing his friends.

Ka-Tet

Ka-tet is a group of people who are bound together by ka, or fatee. Roland Deschain forms two ka-tets, one in his youth with Alain Johns, Cuthbert Allgood, and Jamie DeCurry, as well as one as an adult with Eddie and Susannah Dean, Jake Chambers, and Oy the billy-bumbler.

Ka

Ka is another word for fate in Roland Deschain's world.

The Affiliation

The Affiliation is the name for the rulers of Gilead and Mid-World, and the gunslingers serve it. Its rule comes under question when John Farson rebels and fights against them.
