Chapter 4, Summary

Roland promises Cuthbert that tomorrow they will send a message home about the things they found. Sheemie takes the alcohol up to Rhea, even though he is scared of her. Jonas visits the boys' bunkhouse while they are away, vandalizing it to make it look like some kids had done it but also snooping around. He kills the pigeons and finds where the boys' guns are kept. Out in the ranch, Alain comes up to Roland and tells him his sixth sense or the Touch is telling him something is wrong. Roland tells him to keep counting, and Alain realizes Roland knew someone was at the bunkhouse. Rhea gives Sheemie a note to give to Cordelia. The gunslingers discover the wreckage, and Cuthbert is angry at Roland. Alain tries to calm him down, but Cuthbert goes for a ride and runs into Sheemie...
