Chapter 6, Summary

As the harvest year draws to a close in Hambry, Sheemie fills the beer tanks at the Traveller's Rest. He then goes to meet Susan at the Mayor's storage sheds, where she helps him load his mule with barrels full of fireworks to take to the gunslinger's bunkhouse. Alain and Cuthbert get the ambush ready at Eyebolt Canyon. While in her stable, Susan looks at her father's books that detail the horses' bloodlines and realizes pages are missing. This makes her believe that her father's death truly wasn't an accident. Cordelia startles her and the two argue, Susan leaving and vowing never to stay there again. Susan believes Cordelia knows more than she will admit about Patrick Delgado's murder.
