Sean and Duff pass a large bar of gold back and forth. Sean wants to buy Candy out, but Duff wants to buy as many claims as possible and a couple of ten stamp mills instead. In two days the leader reef makes a thousand pounds. Duff sets out to buy as many claims as possible, and by day's end he has over a hundred, committing them to a debt of forty thousand pounds.
