Waite accepts the position of chairman for the Beef Grower's Association and asks Ada to come with him so Sean drives them into Ladyburg, where they get on a train to Pietermaritzburg. He sees Anna just before leaving, and arranges to meet her on Sunday by the waterfall. He goes home to find Garry reading in his room and asks why he is not branding but Garry starts complaining. Sean is responsible for mixing the new dip in the tanks, but he controls his temper and suggests that Garry do the tanks instead.
