Summary
Johanna leaves a note saying that she did not have time to take Sixten to the bathroom. Bo’s house was at the edge of the village when he was a child, and he used to cut away the grass, a job he found enjoyable. When he started work at the sawmill, he dreamed of purchasing a bike, but one day his father insisted that he start paying to live there. Reluctantly Bo gave him a portion of his money but kept the rest as his mother called him away after a tense standoff.
Bo stumbles outside while walking Sixten but catches himself near what is now an overgrown trail. Sixten goes chasing after elk, and Bo thinks about how his father used to get mad that Bo could not bring himself to kill anything. Bo goes back to the...
