Lila's House

Lila’s house is the center of the novel because it is where most of the characters live for at least some time. When the novel opens, she lives there with Violet, Celie, and Bill, but shortly after the novel opens, Gene comes to live with them. The house is frequently in disrepair as Dan and Lila bought it as a fixer upper, but it is a large house that Lila and her daughters are all attached to.
