Summary

Lila meets with Anoushka who tells her that “sexy menopause is all the rage at the moment” (97). The publishers want the first three chapters of Lila’s newest book right away, and they want it to talk about what it is like to be a sexy cougar. She goes inside to write her story about Dan and starts to gain confidence as she does so because she processes the world through writing. Lila goes outside and jokes around with Jensen, feeling bad for how she previously treated him.

Lila dresses nicely to go pick up Violet, and she sees Grabriel there who tells her that his wife is dead. She tells him what happened with Dan. Bill has been in a more cheerful mood at home, and they hear Truant barking near the shed. Lila opens it to discover that Gene has...
