Summary

Bill is frequently anxious after his heart attack, and the house is less cheerful while he is in the hospital and less people are around. One day Lila is late picking Violet up from school. She spots Violet, but as she is about to go see her, Phillipa walks up and verbally attacks Lila for not getting the costumes done, thus ruining the play. Dan defends Lila to Phillipa. Dan and Lila walk away, and Dan tells Lila just how sick Marja is and that they are trying to keep her pregnant as long as possible.
