Summary

Chapter Seven begins as Hugo leads Wallace through the tea shop to the backyard filled with rows of tea plants. Wallace admits he never thought about how tea plants grow and realizes how pretentious he sounds. Hugo explains that tea plants take years to mature properly and that he enjoys the fall when many of them flower. Then, Hugo asks if Wallace likes being alive, admitting that he once felt stifled by a weight he did not understand. He sells tea by getting to know what people need. Then, Hugo talks about a psychiatrist who created the five stages of grief. Hugo reassures Wallace that he can grieve for himself and admits that Nelson is too stubborn to say why he stayed. Meanwhile, Apollo helped Hugo get through his childhood depression and refused to go through the door after his death. Wallace angrily...
