Summary

In Chapter 131, Kvothe brought Ellie and Krin back to his tent. He had them both drink a countertoxin because he had poisoned the ale and stew the troupe drank in order to kill them. The two girls fell asleep. Krin reminded Kvothe of Denna. Kvothe used his sword to strike down and kill all the members of the troupe. He received a wound across his belly.

In Chapter 132, Krin woke up. Kvothe explained that he killed the group because they were not truly Edema Ruh. They pretended to be Edema Ruh and Kvothe did not want their immoral actions, including killing a Ruh troupe, stealing their wagons, and kidnapping the girls, to be associated with the reputation of his people. Kvothe left one fake trouper alive and questioned how he impersonated the Ruh. Kvothe handed Krin a hot iron to torture the man...
