Summary

In Chapter 11, Kvothe found Auri at a courtyard in his building. He played his lute much to Auri’s excitement. They shared small gifts with each other. Master Elodin appeared. Kvothe warned Elodin not to ask Auri too many questions that could scare her away. Kvothe, Elodin, and Auri ate dinner together. Elodin was surprised to hear Kvothe call the girl Auri, which she told him was a name that Kvothe had given to her. After dinner, Kvothe and Elodin left together. They spoke about their previous encounters with the mysterious girl. Kvothe threatened Elodin not to tell anyone about Auri’s existence. Elodin spoke to Master Lorren to get him to allow Kvothe use of the Archives again. Kvothe’s punishment for breaking any Archive rules would be that Lorren could cut his thumbs off.
