Summary

Chapter 17 is from Adalyn's perspective. Adalyn has noticed Cameron is more focused with the girls during practice, but he is not helpful regarding the uniforms. Adalyn sends Matthew pictures of the team in the hope he will help, but he immediately recognizes Cameron. Adalyn worries that Cameron will think she is sharing his photo on purpose. Cameron focuses on one of the binders. Adalyn begins planning for individual training to get the girls ready for the next game. Cameron says, “You've got a section for me in your binder of hell” (158). Cameron leaves to take a phone call. Maria insists that Adalyn go to the storage shed where her father Robbie and her brother Tony are working on repairs. Maria dominates the conversation as usual.
