Summary

The Last Graduate is the second novel in the Scholomance series. It is narrated in first-person past by the main character, El. She attended the Scholamance school for witches and wizards. Although witches and wizards normally lived hidden amongst the humans, teens between 13 and 18 were the favorite food of evil monsters, or mals, so teens attended the Scholomance to stay marginally safer. Centuries ago, groups of witches and wizards—or enclaves—banded together to form powerful alliances with one another and created the school so that they could protect their children. The Scholomance was connected to the Earth through a single gate, and the enclavers had built a trap to keep the monsters on the bottom floor.
