Part One, Joanna: Chapters 12-17 Summary

Joanna has a panic attack as soon as she is alone in her apartment. Joanna knows that Alex is the cause and decides she must not see him again. As soon as Joanna makes this decision, her panic attack ends. At the same time, Alex enters his hotel room and suspects that someone has been in it. Alex looks around the rooms, but when he finds nothing disturbed, decides it is his imagination. Alex prepares to take a bath. When Alex approaches the closet to pick a suit for dinner that night, an intruder jumps out and attacks him.
