Gaffney, South Carolina is the town in which Jeri’s father, Bryan Burke, went to live after he retired. It is the town where Burke grew up. It is also where Bannick found Burke and killed him.

The Vault

The Vault is a secret office Bannick has built inside a shopping center that he owns. The FBI never locates this secret office. Even though Bannick doubted anyone would ever find the Vault, he had precautions in place to wipe the hard drives of his computers and shut down his other devices. Bannick cleaned the Vault, just as he cleaned his home and business office, to ensure no one would be able to gather any evidence if it was located.
