Theodore Boone: Kid Lawyer Overview

Theodore Boone Kid Lawyer is a legal thriller as well as a middle grade novel. It was written by John Grisham and was published in 2010. It employs the third person limited perspective that largely follows the perspective of Theodore Boone, the teenage protagonist. The novel is set during a murder trial that Theo’s whole town is excited about. Theo gets access to information that could convict the defendant who otherwise will likely go free. He has to work with his parents who are lawyers to bring about justice. Key themes in the novel are the plight of undocumented workers, the importance of family, the ability of children to make a difference, the intended fairness of the American judicial system, and the importance of giving back to the community.
