Summary

In Chapter 49, Nina details letting herself go and searching for a beautiful replacement. Enzo does not like Nina’s plan, but he agrees to help Nina. Nina explains that she feels terrible about treating Millie poorly and setting her up, but it is the only way Nina can free herself and Cecelia.

In Chapter 50, Nina is free but will not “feel entirely confident until we’re divorced” (265). Enzo arrives at Nina’s hotel room. Nina and Enzo have sex. Nina thinks about how much time she has spent in survival mode. Enzo tells Nina that they cannot leave Millie at Andrew’s mercy because “Millie does not deserve [Andrew] any more than [Nina] did” (268). Nina disagrees.

Part III begins with Chapter 51 and returns to Millie as the narrator. Millie screams for Andrew. Hours later, Andrew tells Millie to lie on the floor...
