Summary
Carl is brought to Dr. Treadwell‘s office. The doctor tells him that he needs to go to the emergency room, but he and Marianne cannot afford that. The doctor tells Carl to be very careful and not to do anything that will raise his heart rate. Marianne brings him home, and he convinces her to go help the search. When she comes home, she asks him why one of Carl’s bears was found near where Bear went missing, and he tells her that he must have taught the boy to make one in the years he has been teaching him to carve. Vic may know about this too because he hangs out with Bear a lot as well. He speaks in the past tense about Bear, he says, because he associates Bear with his deceased son, Scotty.
