Summary

It is July 1975, and Tracy thinks she could have a crush on Barbara. Barbara maintains an interesting position at the camp because she is new to the camp but knows more about the property than anybody else. Barbara is also friends with the elusive TJ who stays with Barbara when the Van Laars are out of town. Tracy talks to her crush Lowell outside who tells her Sluiter has escaped. He tries to put her mind at ease even though Sluiter killed 11 people and is likely headed north near where they are. He has strong outdoor skills because he grew up in rural poverty.

On another day, everyone is shocked when Lowell comes to the cabin to get Tracy and take her to go practice singing. He is unconscious as he sings, and Tracy is grateful her mother taught her...
