Summary

Chapter 29

Nico Shadow-jumps them to South Carolina. Unfortunately, he’s not doing so hot now, losing his connection to the real world at an alarming pace. In fact, at one point he even went right through a tree. Both he and Reyna have a chat about their pasts, and Reyna admits - shockingly enough - that she killed her own father. It’s then that a Roman Legionnaire steps out of the shadows and tells Reyna that she’s going to be executed for this.

The legionnaire was in fact Bryce Lawrence, one of Octavian’s henchmen, instructed to arrest Reyna. She’s not about to be taken down by him, but Bryce hasn't come alone; he has backup.
