Summary

In the Prologue, which is narrated from the third person point of view, Gina and her children, Brady and Lily (later known as Lanny and Connor), arrive home to find the street blocked off with three police cars, an ambulance, and a fire truck. All of the vehicles are parked in front of their house. Gina can see that an SUV has run into the garage area of their house. Gina’s husband was the only one who went into that garage which he kept padlocked. He spent a good deal of time there and said that he was busy with his woodworking hobby.

When a policeman walks up to Gina’s car she smiles apologetically as she tells him that the house hit by the car is hers. She asks if the driver is hurt and also asks permission to park...
