Summary

Eccles gets the call that Janice has accidentally drowned her baby. No one knows where Harry is and the family has asked Eccles to find him. Lucy questions why he must be the one to look after Harry. Eccles says he loves him. Lucy is appalled by his answer. She feels he loves him more than he loves her and their daughters.

Lucy blames Harry for the death of Rebecca. She chastises Eccles for bringing the two back together. She feels they were better apart. Eccles feels if Harry is to blame for the death than so is he responsible for bringing them back together.

Eccles tries Ruth’s number, but no one answers. Harry calls the rectory because he tries to call his apartment, but no one answers. He is at a drugstore in Brewer and does not know what has happened. Eccles tells him...
